IPL Photofacial

Ipl-photofacial

From nothing more than light, you can expect skin that looks and feels healthier. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments deliver short bursts of high-intensity light energy below the skin’s surface. This light energy helps to damage the melanin (skin pigmentation) responsible for causing age spots and other skin discolorations. IPL can also address the damaged blood vessels that cause visible broken capillaries and help boost the natural collagen production in the skin. Thanks to the various wavelength settings and adapters available for this treatment, we can fine-tune your IPL treatment to your specific needs and desired results, and can even treat multiple conditions in a single session.

BAM Aesthetics uses the Aerolase Neo multi-application platform for the treatment of over 30 skin conditions, Such as:

Rosacea
Acne
Sun Damage/Age Spots
Pigmented Lesions
Freckles

The most common areas treated are those most often exposed to the sun, such as the face, neck, chest, shoulders, and hands. For the best results, we recommend a series of up to 4 IPL treatments. Within months, you will notice a more youthful complexion and smoother skin.

What to expect at your treatment

As IPL treatments are gentle by nature. You can return to daily activities immediately after your treatment, however, you may have some mild redness for a day and brown spots will appear somewhat darker for a few days before flaking off. Your nurse will determine the number of treatments you will need after a full assessment of your skin. For the best results, we recommend a series of up to 4 IPL treatments. Within months, you will notice a more youthful complexion and smoother skin.

If considering an IPL Photofacial, it is important to stay out of the sun before and after treatment. Those who have recently been tanning are not candidates for this treatment. We always recommend using a broad spectrum sunblock with an SPF of 30 or more. Please discontinue the use of antibiotics, Hydroquinone, Retin-A or bleaching cream, at least 7-10 days prior to treatment. These medications and products will cause an increased sensitivity to light energy. If you have a history of melanoma or have active skin infections are not candidates for IPL.

During your consultation, our registered nurse specialists will evaluate your unique needs and explain the procedure in detail. You will have the opportunity to view before and after photos so that you will know what to expect from the treatment. After your treatment, your nurse will instruct you on the best techniques to care for your skin to maintain your new healthy look
